Teaching Philosophy

The Harbor Violin Studio invites children of all ages to begin the journey of learning a musical instrument. Ms. Vibha teaches fundamentals and technique through a classical approach, but welcomes different styles that engage the student such as contemporary, jazz, and fiddling.

Through weekly one-on-one lessons, each student is given a unique lesson plan and specific assignments for his or her daily practice at home. Ms. Vibha creates a kind and encouraging environment and strives for each lesson to be creatively challenging while having fun. She believes learning music builds confidence, fosters self-expression, and brings joy to all aspects of life.

Meet the Teacher

A native of Safety Harbor, Florida, Vibha began her musical journey at the age of three, studying both violin and piano. She quickly became an active member of the local music community, performing with the Tampa Bay Youth Orchestra and the Pinellas Youth Symphony. Throughout high school and college, she attended Eastern Music Festival each summer.

Vibha’s passion for teaching began early in life. As a teenager, she began teaching private lessons and soon expanded her impact through community programs. In high school, she taught at the Tarpon Springs Fundamental Elementary after-school violin program, earning the Pinellas County Schools Volunteer of the Year Award, as well as at the High Point YMCA Music Alternatives Program, where she received the Pinellas County YMCA Volunteer of the Year Award. During her undergraduate studies, she served as the violin instructor at Alachua Fine Arts. After graduating, Vibha relocated to New York City, where she continued to inspire students as a private violin and piano instructor at Play Music NYC and continued her studies in music composition and production through the Juilliard Extension program.

Vibha earned her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance with a Minor in Music Composition from the University of Florida School of Music, where she was honored with the Friends of Music Scholarship. During and after her undergraduate studies, she performed with the Albany Symphony Orchestra, Ocala Symphony Orchestra, and Gainesville Chamber Orchestra.
